Moira Stagliano & Sam Gold on December 3, 2008.

Injured On The Job host and National Organization of Injured Workers volunteer director Sam Gold & applicants' attorney Moira Stagliano of the Boxer & Gerson law firm were guests on the John Rothmann show on KGO Newstalk Radio 810AM on Wednesday night, December 3rd 2008 during 11:00PM to 12:00AM hour.

KGO Radio is the Citidel owned #1 Neilsen rated 50,000 watt clear-channel Newstalk AM station in San Francisco that can be heard all over the Western United States in the night & evenings.

The topic of discussion was the tragedy of Taneka Talley, a single mother who was stabbed to death while working at the Dollar Tree store in Fairfield, CA in 2006.

Dollar Tree's Workers' Compensation adjuster Specialty Risk Services, refuses to pay substantial Workers' Compensation death benefits to Ms. Talley's survivor and heir, her 11 year old son, claiming that this was a race-related crime because Ms. Talley was African-American, that there was a personal animus between Ms. Talley and her assailant and therefore they are not obliged to pay these benefits.

This is a case that has certainly garnered quite a bit of attention in the print, radio & television media as well as the blogosphere of America.

The National Organization of Injured Workers and it's members look forward to having the opportunity to again speak with injured workers from around the state via KGO Radio and thank them and John Rothmann for giving injured workers the on-the-air forum on such a high profile radio station to make these issues known. If you missed the program, here is the audio track in it's entirety.
